Its well made and will have sufficient space for camera, ipod, telephone, water bottle, passport, deet, dog dazzer, swiss army knife etc. It is quite large and I expect it will be best on serious travel days rater than touristy trips as I feel I might look a bit uncool! The clip is a standard push in type so no security from snatching – however the other security bags are very expensive and this is fairly cheap. I happen to have a wire loop to push through all the tabs to ensure it can’t be slashed or hussled off me but where you could get a thing I don’t know. The one regret is that I can’t quite get my little 10inch netbook in – its (only) just to wide – would have been useful.

This review comes with a health warning against laughing yourself silly at American (or is that Australian) English. I (being English) ordered a bumbag and got (the manufacturer being Australian with eyes no doubt on the US market) a fanny pack. No jokes here about Down-Under. The good news is that it’s robust & capacious with several useful add-ons. It’s a bit on the large & heavy side for shorter-distance running but with plenty of space for jelly babies, Kendal mint-cake or other high-calorie stuff if you’re running the West Highland Way or walking all day. The bottle carrier, despite having a Velcro fastening, managed to come loose (when empty) on an early run and disappeared without fuss (it was retrieved on the next lap around the woods, thanks to a kind witness). Since using it with a filled bottle, no such problem. I’ve now made use of two little loops on the bag to double secure the Velcro-fastened add-ons – so far with no sign of them coming loose again. The construction looks likely to be long-lasting, despite regular exposure to human sweat, with very good padding for comfort. The add-on units do have a tendency to get in the way of flailing arms as you run so a bit of trial and error is needed to get a comfortable arrangement. No problem when just walking, though and I’ve pretty quickly got used to it when running.

All round, I’d certainly recommend it to anyone looking for space and comfort with good build quality and not bothered by the larger size and extra weight. If you definitely want small and lightweight that you’re really not going to notice as you perambulate, however, look elsewhere.
